A Self-Powered FBRJT AC-DC Conversion Circuit for Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting Systems

In this study, a complete model for miniature excitation-powered piezoelectric generator (PG), analysis modes of operation and control full-bridge joule thief (FBRJT) circuit to identify the optimal points were investigated. The proposed revealed PG’s power dependency on mechanical excitation, acceleration, frequency defined load behaviour optimisation. circuit, namely FBRJT, was integrated with conventional rectifier (FBR) in Stage 1 AC-DC conversion 2 DC-DC conversion. This integration acted as boost converter without utilising duty cycles additional switching components. electrical nature input FBRJT simple structure, sensor-less auxiliary circuits showed consistent agreement investigated testing scenarios using both ideal impedance sources. Additionally, performance also verified against published results electronics circuits. developed versatile system can be utilised many applications, such mobile battery charging energy harvesting.
